This looks to be an interesting listen … “A Belgian Intellectual”
July 06, 2007
When a practicing theoretical physicist turns his attention to politics, picking up the progressive flag, political types should pay attention. Jean Bricmont, of the Catholic University of Louvain, is not only a prolific researcher in his profession but goes well beyond, writing about everything from the philosophy of science ("Determinism, Chaos, and Quantum Mechanics," PDF) to culture (Fashionable Nonsense), to politics — his latest being Humanitarian Imperialism: Using Human Rights to Sell War
. I find Jean’s ideas challenging, thoughtful, and more than a little helpful in putting America in perspective for Americans. It was a real pleasure talking with Jean, and I hope he’ll be a return guest to EP. Total runtime here of an hour and thirty seven minutes. Enjoy!
