Feliz Compleanos!
Ah, the big 50 milestone. I decided I would ‘dress up’ for work today and was torn between a ‘mutton dressed up as lamb’ look or classic. The vamp look (I was thinking of my red vintage high heels and a quasi-mini skirt) lost out to classic, just because it was easier. I wore my pearls (my mom’s) and a diamond ring (my gran’s) with one of my favourite "Clothes’ dresses from Ottawa with these great boots I bought in Philly. And I had my Mexican tooled leather bag - my favourites.
Two groups of work colleagues sang happy birthday to me and I have received lots of birthday wishes. However, someone called yesterday and left a message on the phone and I have no idea who it was … sometimes the landline phone service here is VERY FAINT.
R. bought me a great pair of earrings from our friend Britt’s gallery in Whistler (The Path Gallery) but I didn’t wear them with my classic outfit. With my hair up (in an old lady chignon), the old earlobes looked a bit vulnerable and I didn’t want to risk ripping what is left of my earlobes on my birthday! I bought myself a big silver bangle - eagle design - by a BC artist named Patrick Seaweed. I will take a picture of it and post it at ’my pictures’ but alas, today it poured rain.
