a sunday morning in barra de navidad
yesterday morning it rained which is very unusual for this time of year. one more day here before either going to melaque or back to guadalajara. having thoroughly explored barra de navidad now a few times i am feeling abit restless. i will go to the end of the malecon and watch the surfers for awhile. barra de navidad also has a large lagoon.
this morning i finished reading biko, another book from beer bob’s book exchange. it was interesting to read what is now a historical look at biko’s life by donald woods, the book was the basis of the movie cry freedom. my first exposure to biko was through an art piece at the national gallery, then located on elgin street - the alcan symbol over a photo of his dead body. i can’t remember the artist’s name who created it. it was really the first time i fully understood that art could be political.
